Want to go to college, but need some help with expenses? College scholarships and grants can help you attain your education dreams!
A variety of college scholarships and grants are available to South Kitsap School District students throughout the year. Scholarships are posted in the Career Center at SKHS and online. They will be posted in order of due date and students are advised to check at least once a week for new postings. Postings are also advertised on our school's daily news show, WTV.
Students should check out the Washington College Grant as well as the CSS profile to help with paying for college.
Most scholarships require 1-3 letters of recommendation from teachers or non family member adults in your life that can speak on your behalf. This form Letter of Recommendation Request Fillable is a useful tool to help you make that request.

Any gender student with a minimum of 1/8th Filipino heritage who lives in Kitsap County and maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0 is eligible to apply. Three awards in the amount of $1000 each are available. Completed applications must be emailed by May 15th, 2026.

Seniors who will attend a Pacific NW (WA, OR, ID, British Columbia) school to pursue horticulture, floriculture, arboriculuture, landscape design, botany, plant pathology, forestry, agronomy, wildlife science, environmental conservation, rural & urban planning, habitat or forest/ systems ecology, land management, and other related fields are eligible to apply. One award in the amount of $2000 is available. Completed applications must be received in the mail by May 22nd, 2026.

Female students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college are eligible to apply. Five awards in the amount of $1000 each are available. Completed applications must be emailed by May 29th, 2026.

Applicants must plan to be enrolled in an approved trade-related program at an accredited two-year college, vocational, or technical school. Four-year degree or bachelor programs are not eligible. Application requirements include answering four questions, recording a video of yourself, providing program cost verification, a transcript, and two references (from a boss, supervisor, or teacher) who will submit their recommendations online. Applications are open through October 31st, 2026.

Let the Army help you pay for college! ROTC is not basic training and does not include boot camp. The number one focus is academic success. ROTC scholarships can cover either tuition and fees OR room and board. Both choices come with money for living and books and can be applied to more than 1,000 participating schools. Scholarship determination is based on achievements and grades, not financial need.

NROTC provides similar benefits as Army ROTC with the opportunity to become an officer in the Navy or Marine Corp, or earn a BSN in nursing. See the link and PDF below for details.

College Bound Scholar program begins in Middle School based on free and reduced-price lunch program enrollment.
