Graduation Name Form

The Grad Name Form is available in the Class of 2026 Google Classroom and must be completed as soon as possible.

This form confirms your intent to walk at graduation at the Tacoma Dome in June, ensures you are included in the seating chart, and tells announcers exactly how to say your name (including phonetic pronunciation).

What to Wear for Graduation

Graduation is a big moment. We want every graduate to feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated. Students should choose attire that is respectful, appropriate for a formal school event, and allows them to walk safely across the stage.

Approved graduation regalia, cultural regalia and honors may be worn. Items that could cause safety issues or distract from the ceremony may not be allowed. Approved academic regalia and honors includes gown, cap, stoles, cords and medallions. Shoes should be safe and comfortable for walking and standing.

Can students wear cultural or traditional attire?
Yes. Cultural and traditional expressions are welcome as long as they do not interfere with the safety, or flow of the ceremony.

Are there shoe requirements?
Shoes should allow students to walk safely across the stage. Extremely high heels, unsafe footwear, or shoes that make walking difficult are discouraged.

Can students decorate their caps?
Yes, students may decorate their caps

What if a student needs an accommodation?
Students should contact school administration prior to graduation so accommodations can be arranged.

Laurels Award Night

Laurels Night is an event with a dual purpose. The first is to recognize seniors who have earned scholarships for post-secondary education. We invite community groups such as Kiwanis, the Rotary, and others to come that night to officially present their scholarship awards.

The second purpose is to celebrate our Seniors’ academic successes. On Laurels Night, we present medals to our valedictorians and salutatorians, awards to our top scholars, and stoles to class and ASB officers.

To be honored at Laurels Night is a recognition of hard work! If you have been awarded a scholarship let us know by bringing a copy of your award letter to the Counseling office.

You will receive an invitation from the Counseling office to attend Laurels if you are being recognized.

Walk of the Grads

SKHS's tradition of the “WALK of the GRADS”. Following graduation rehearsal seniors all have the option to ride buses to their previous middle school (or to choose one if they didn’t attend our district) to parade through the building, enjoying congratulations from previous teachers and staff and high-fives from the current middle school students.

This is a fun way to begin celebrating graduation and to demonstrate to the incoming middle schoolers SK pride in our high school and what it feels like to be a graduating Wolf.

Many of our elementary schools also host Grad Walks...watch WTV, read the bulletin, and check social media for more information.

Prom

Diplomas

DIPLOMAS are available for graduates to pick up at the ASB office. The window is open from 9 am to 2 pm, M-F. Diplomas must be picked up by the graduate; photo ID (student ID card, state ID, driver's license, etc.) is required. If the graduate cannot visit during open hours, please email SKHSRegistrar@skschools.org for assistance. We hold diplomas at the high school indefinitely.
