News for SK Athletes:

We hope everyone is staying healthy during this very trying time as we try to navigate uncharted waters.  Yesterday, April 6th, Governor Jay Inslee issued an addendum to his original order of all public and private K-12 school closures to extend through June 19th.  School campuses will remain closed and all learning will take place remotely.  The WIAA has received clarification and confirmation that, unfortunately, this order includes all in-person extracurricular activities and athletics through the end of the school year.  This will include all regular season contests and practices as well as all postseason tournaments and championship events.

This news is devastating to all of our coaches and competitors—especially the seniors who are losing their final opportunity to compete for their school and with their teammates.  This is very difficult but we must also try to put things in perspective as we try to fight a battle that really hasn’t been fought in the last 100 years.  And against a foe that deserves our respect for its ability to bring this world to its knees.

Here are some answers to some of the questions we have been asked already:

  • Please know that all sports participation fees will be refunded, please be patient as it will take a good bit of time to complete this task with limited staff ( see more info below)
  • Please stay connected with your coaches as we are going to try and find a way to honor/recognize all of our senior athletes
  • Coaches will contact players at some point to collect any uniforms/equipment that may have been handed out
  • ALL SKSD ATHLETIC FACILITIES WILL BE CLOSED THROUGH JUNE 19, 2020 - this includes all community events
  • As of this moment, there will not be any “spring ball/practices”, “summer work outs” or “team camps”—here or elsewhere taking place until further notice.

Hang in there, SK - GO WOLVES!!

*The SKHS ASB Office is in the process of refunding all Spring Sport activity fees. If you paid by credit card you will receive a credit back to the same card within two weeks. If you paid by cash/check, you will receive a check within 2-4 weeks. The ASB office is working to expedite this and thank you for your patience.
